Really hope there is a fix for this soon. Some days (like today) it happens so often that it completely ruins my workflow - I feel like I spend half my day waiting for it to catch up when all I'm dong is typing. Oddly, the problem seemed to occur less often while the CPU diagnostic was running - probably because it knew I was trying to report it for misbehaving! I have tried applying general solutions found online such as excluding files for indexing but nothing has worked. I could be doing anything when it happens - but generally I am just editing code. I can see the CPU flat lining and then spiking when it happens. It ran absolutely fine for several months - and I haven't changed anything as far as I know - but it now freezes every few minutes, sometimes every few seconds - and it tends to lock up my whole OS when this happens.
